The only shopping centre servicing the greater Thames area
The centre sits on the beautiful Firth of Thames in the heart of the historic Thames goldmining town.
The surrounding outstanding bush and ranges provides a scenic backdrop for the town and its population of over 25,000 permanent residences. The numbers swell in summer when the 22,000 dwellings on the peninsula are occupied. The centre is only 6kms from the Kopu Bridge and an ideal stopover for holiday necessities.
25,938 people live in Thames-Coromandel District. This is an increase of 762 people, or 3.0 percent, since the 2001 Census
There are 11,547 occupied dwellings and 10,917 unoccupied dwellings in Thames- Coromandel District. 21.2 percent of people in Thames-Coromandel District are aged 65 years and over, compared with 12.3 percent of the total New Zealand population
The unemployment rate in Thames-Coromandel District is 3.7 percent for people aged 15 years and over, compared with 5.1 percent for all of New Zealand.

The Goldfields Shopping Centre is in the planning stages for an ambience upgrade, and we are currently investigating ways of improving the customer experience while we push forward with our big plans
The successful “Pak’n Save” supermarket has received resource consent for an upgrade
“The Warehouse” store is curently considering various upgrade and expansion options
Our existing toilets and customer facilities are being relocated and upgraded and will provide better facilities and a larger parents room
The food court will be revamped and rationalised with a number of prospective tenants showing great interest in the food outlets
The existing “Postie” store has been upgraded to a “B” class store which allows for an expanded fashion range
We welcome the arrival of Lincraft at Goldfields Shopping Centre and their 1,000 square metre store will complement the existing tenant mix which includes the established Pak’n Save supermarket and The Warehouse store. Lincraft will bring thousands of new product lines to the Thames area including fabric, yarns, craft, and home furnishing.
Lincraft will join other great retailers such as Warehouse Stationery, Mc Donald’s, Postie, T&T Childrenswear, Bed Bath & Beyond and Goldfields Pharmacy. The destination shopping experience for local and visting customers.
Goldfields offers 500 free car spaces surrounding the centre, in a newly upgraded garden.
There are many opportunities for new retailers and service providers in the Goldfield’s Centre, including a 66sqm café opportunity directly infront of the newly formed Lincraft store entry.
